A man tried to steal a Chevy Tahoe from the Carmax car sales business located on John Hawkins Parkway [Highway 150] in Hoover, AL. The car thief managed to get the SUV as far as the exit gate but was then unable to get the gate open in order to drive off the lot. The man's face was videoed by the business surviellance camera. Recent-Best Buy Theft: Hoover, AL

Two men caught on an electornic's store video are suspected of stealing a computer tablet from one of the employees inside the store. The employee's tablet was stolen as the employee was distracted. Recent-Theft-Gardendale Jewelry Store-May 7, 2013

 May 7, 2013, a man entered a Gardendale jewelry store and asked to look at a couple of gold chain necklaces. While he was being shown two necklaces the man grabbed them an ran from the store. The man and the car he was using were both filmed by the store security cameras. This crime is being investigated by Det. Recent Case-Theft at Walmart on Hwy 280 in Hoover, April 2013

At the Walmart located on Highway 280 in Hoover, a man pretendied  to assist a Walmart shopper but instead he stole her purse and ran. The thief ran to a nearby car, a gray or silver 4-door sedan, where his accomplice waited on him and they sped from the parking lot. The man was filmed on the security video when he entered the Walmart and a partial tag number on the car was obtained:  1C07L.??.  The investigation is being handled by Det. Missing Person: David Michael Burney, Cullman County, June 2007

Late in June of 2007, Elizabeth Burney pulled in to a service station on Highway 157, in Cullman County.  Mrs. Burney ran into her son, David Michael Burney, who had stopped at the station as well. Mother and son talked for a little while and both then left.  Mrs.Burney had no way of knowing that would be the last time she would see her son. About a month later, not having heard or seen Michael, his family reported him missing to the Cullman County Sheriff's Office. Capt. Missing Person: Tabitha Franklin, Cullman County Resident, August 2009

In the middle of August, 2009, 28 year old Tabitha Franklin left the home of her father, Donald White. Having not heard from her in almost two weeks, Mr. White called the Cullman County Sheriff's Office and reported his daughter missing. The initial investigation identified several people who possibly had contact with Tabitha for a few days after she left her father's house. But the information provided has not resulted in locating Ms. Franklin or solving her disappearance. Det. Recent-Theft/Use of Stolen Credit Cards: Suspects Using Stolen Credit Cards, Hoover, AL 4-1-2013

A customer of a Hoover grocery store was the victim of a theft. Her wallet was stolen from her purse as she shopped. Shortly thereafter, several suspects used the victim's stolen credit cards to purchases at Target and Best Buy stores in Alabaster. The suspects using appear to be black females, of varying ages. Recent-Theft of Credit Cards: Inverness Workout Facility, Hoover, AL 4-2-13

Recently, a thief, dressed as though he had been there to work out, hit a workout facility in the Inverness (Hoover) area. The thief, a white male, dressed in workout clothing, wearing a ball cap pulled low toward his face, stole credit cards from patrons' belongings in the men's locker room. The thief is shown on the surviellance video of the facility. Recent - Burglary: Inverness Restaurant, Hoover, AL 3/13/2013

The suspect in this burglary was caught on security video as he stole a commercial grade pressure washer from a restaurant located in Inverness, Hoover, AL.  The suspect used a gold colored Ford Ranger pickup truck to haul away his loot from the crime. Recent-Theft of Property: Motorcycle Theft, Hoover AL.

 A bearded white male, with a unique tatood on the left side of his neck, was involved in the theft of a Ninja model motorcydle from a Chevron Station located at Galleria Woods, in Hoover, AL. The suspect and another person drove up and left in a dark colored pickup truck believed to be a Colorado model Chevrolet.. The Compass Bank, on Doug Baker Boulevard in Hoover, AL was robbed on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, This robbery took place close to 1:00 pm. The robber approached a teller and presented a knife, demanding money. The teller handed him money and the robber fled with an undetermined amount of money. The case investigation is assigned to Det. Recent Case-Homicide: Radford, Navarro; February 23, 2013

 On Saturday, February 28, 2013, around 1:15am Birmingham Police responded to a call that someone had been shot at that location. Officers found 23 year old Navarro Radford laying on the ground. Mr. Radford had been shot. This shooting occured outside Mr. Radfor'd's nearby residence.  On March 3, 2013, around 2:17 PM, Birmingham Police were called to the home of 88 year old Herbert Jolley located on 11th Avenue Southwest.  Mr. Jolley was found inside his home, the apparent victim of an assautl. Pareamedics were called to his home, but Mr. Jolley was already deceased.

Recent Case - Homicide: Martin, Andrew; February 8, 2013

 On February 8, 2013, around 4:30 pm, Andrew Martin, was discovered unconscious in his car, having been shot. Mr. Martin was transported to a local hospital by ambulance but did not survive. Recent Case - Robbery: Kangaroo Convenience Store; January 14, 2013

 On January 14, 2013 approximately 11:55 AM, Don Conner, employed as a driver for Birmingham Armored Inc., was shot and robbed at the Kangaroo Convenience Store at 1200 Bankhead Highway. Although injured, Mr. Connor survived the attack. Mr. Connor was making a scheduled pickup of a bank deposit from the convenience store. The money and Mr. Connor's van were stolen.  Pierre Goodman, 25 years old, was shot and killed on December 4, 2012 as he stood in the 6500 block of Joppa Avenue, Birmingham, AL.  Mr. Goodman appears to be the victim of a 'drive-by' shooting, where unidentified persons passing by in a vehicle open fire on him.  Pierre was shot multiple times. Recent - Robbery: 1200 Block 16th St. So, Birmingham AL January 16, 2013

Around 1:00 am, on Wednesday, January 16th,  in the 1200 block of 16th Street South, there was an armed robbery of a UAB student. The gunman was described as black male, approximately 5'6" and 150 lbs, dressed in all black, and wearing a tobaggan. Recent Case: Homicide: Cedric Dickson; January 4, 2012

On January 4, 2012, 54 year old Cedric Dickson, was shot in the vacinity of 3713 Laurel Avenue South, Birmingham. He was discovered laying on the ground near the driver's door of his car at that location.  Bystanders attempted to help him and called 911. When officers arrived Mr. Dickson still alive and he was transported to the UAB Hospital. However, he did not survive his injuries. Recent Case- Homicide: Donavan Seals; March 18, 2012

On March 28, 2012, 21 year old Donovan Seals, was shot and killed as he and another young man drove near the intersection of 31st Street and Avenue P, Ensley. Shots were fired into their vehicle, a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder, hitting Donovan. Officers responding to the call found Donovan Seals, severely injured,  inside the SUV. Mr. Seals was transported to UAB hospital, but did not survive. Anyone with any information about Donovan Seal's death is urged to call Crime Stoppers. On February 12, 2012, around 2:40 A.M., 33 year old Diane Moss, was shot and killed outside D & B lounge at 1105 3rd Avenue West, Birmingham, AL. Ms. Moss and a number of other customers were leaving the lounge as angry gunman fired multiple shots into the group. Two other people were injured by the gunfire but survived. Recent Case - Robbery: Milos' Restaurant in Forestdale, AL. November 13, 2012

On November 13, 2012, around 8:30PM an armed gunman robbed the Milos' Restaurant on Foresdale Boulevard, AL. The gunman threatened  employees with a pistol. From the security video the gunman appears to be a black male, wearing plastic golves and covering the lower portion of his face. Recent Case - Homicide: Jones, Devondae; September 19, 2012

On September 19, 2012, 18 year old Devondae Jones was shot in the 1100 Block of 25th Street in Ensley, Birmingham, AL. Police arrived on the scene and found Jones, still alive, laying on the sidewalk. Devondae was transported to UAB hospital but did not survive his injuries. People nearby reported hearing 3-4 gunshots at the time of the incident.  Devondae's family hopes that those who have knowedge of his murder will call Crime Stoppers with information that will help the police solve his murder.

Cold Case - Homicide: Price, Audrey; February 13, 2006

Audrey Price was shot and killed as she drove North on I-65, near the 3rd Avenue No. Exit. Passenger Marquez McConnico was injured but survived. Ms. Price was driving a 2004 Mazda 626. The shooters were in a black Chevrolet Tahoe or Surburban and left the scene.

Recent Case - Theft [Pickpocket] at BMC Princeton Hosp. in Birmingham, AL; October 2, 2012

On September 24, 2007, the body of James W. Hutchins was discovered laying off the side of Tower Drive in the Sandusky-Docena area of Jefferson County. His car was located nearby. Anyone with any information regarding the death of Mr. Hutchins is urged to call or submit a tip by email to Crime Stoppers. Cold Case - Homicide: Bernstein, Howard; November 4, 2007

On November 4, 2007, close to 1PM, in a parking lot situated between Cotton and Tuscaloosa Avenues in SW Birmingham, 50 year old Howard Scott Bernstein was found sitting in the dirver's seat of his car. Mr. Bernstein had been shot and was already deceased when paramedics and police arrived. It was reported to police that Mr. Bernstein was seen sitting in his car, reading a newspaper, in that location earlier in the day. Anyone with any information is urged to call or submit the information via email to Crime Stoppers. You will remain anonymous and, if your tip leads to identifying and charging the person or persons responsible for Mr. Bernstein's murder, you will be eligible for a cash reward.

Recent Case - Animal Cruelty, Wilsonville, AL; July 27, 2012

Between Friday, July 27, 2012 and Wednesday, August 1, 2012, a farm owner in Wilsonville discovered that ten head of cattle had been shot and killed in his fenced pasture. The pasture is adjacent to Highway 56 and it is suspected that the person or persons responsible may have shot the animals from a location on or near the highway. A reward of up to $5000.00 has been offered by the Shelby County Cattlemen's Association to anyone who provides information that leads to the identification and charging of the person[s] responsible for this crime.
